Located in Downtown New Braunfels, If you are looking for award-winning wine, then Water2Wine is where you need to be. They are an incredible wine bar and a must-visit winery for wine lovers.
Because they source their grapes from around the world and craft their wines in small batches they are able to offer over 50 different styles of varietals. You are sure to find something you’ll love.
I have a difficult time drinking some American wines because of the sulfites in them. But this is not an issue with Water2Wine. The wines are low sulfite, low-histamine, and without the heavy preservatives found in other wines.
Water2Wine won many wine competitions including the prestigious Houston Rodeo International Wine Competition.
This is the perfect place to create your own custom batch of wine. While your wine is fermenting they will work with you to create your custom labels for your 28 bottles. This is a great way to celebrate any occasion – with a glass of custom wine.

Winery on the Gruene – 1308 Gruene Rd

Winery on the Gruene is a woman-owned, award-winning boutique winery located in the Gruene Historic District, just down the street from Gruene Hall. They blend, ferment, age, and bottle 30 different wines all on the premises. Their wines are low in sulfites and have no added preservatives – which I really appreciate.
Wine tasting is offered daily, no reservation is required. You can taste any of their 4 wines for a modest $7 per person. For an additional $2 you can keep the souvenir glass. Seating is on their outdoor patio with a limited section upstairs.
They offer an exclusive wine club for valued customers. February, May, August, and November, you will receive 4, 6, or 12 bottles of wine, expertly selected by their winemaker. – Optional December shipment
One of the coolest things they offer is the ability to custom-make your own batch of wine. They can also work with you to create your own custom label. This is the perfect gift for Weddings, Anniversaries, Birthdays, or Any Special Day. This process takes 4-6 weeks to ferment, so plan accordingly. The best wine just might be the one you make yourself.
If you are looking for somewhere to celebrate a special occasion, they have two areas that can accommodate parties of 10 or more – up to 100. This is the perfect setting for a bachelorette party, birthday party, or girls’ night out.
Winery on the Gruene is the only winery in Historic Gruene, right next to the Guadalupe River.

La Cruz de Comal Wines is a boutique vineyard that produces only Texas wines produced from Texas Hill Country Grapes.
The tasting room is a charming, building made from stone and timber gathered from their vineyard including a century-old clay rooftop.
For a tasting fee of $25, you will receive 4 wines of varying varietals. Groups are limited to 8.

Dry Comal Creek Vineyards – 1741 Herbelin Rd

One of the most popular wineries in the area is Dry Comal Creek Vineyards. This family-owned winery produces 100% Texas Wines. The tasting room is a rustic welcoming space, and visitors can enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the beautiful views of the vineyard.
Reservations are recommended for tastings. Limited to groups of no more than 6. There is a $25 tasting fee that includes 6 of their 100% Texas Wines. Tastings take 45 minutes to an hour.
21 and older only! No children or infants.

Just a short drive off of I35. toward Seguine, Windmill Farm Winery by Water 2 Wine, is a relatively new winery in New Braunfels. They make all of their small batched wines in their century-old barn on their 5-acre farm.
Prices are very reasonable, with a flight of 4 wines for $10.

Blue Lotus Winery –

This winery is a bit of a drive (almost to Seguin) but, when visiting the Central Texas wineries, you are not going to want to miss this place. Not only are you able to sample wines, but they also offer something that you don’t often see, Mead. Mead is made by mixing honey and water and is considered to be the oldest known alcoholic beverage.
They offer the finest wines and meads and have a very knowledgeable staff to help you choose your perfect beverage.
For an added adventure you can also stay in their Blue Lotus Resort – of wine barrel-shaped cabins.
San Antonio Wineries:
Stray Grape Urban Winery
Stray Grape is a bit of a drive into San Antonio but I think it is worth the trip. Their concept is that you don’t have to travel to taste wines from around the world. They have over 50 different wines to choose from made with grapes from all over the world. And for $15 for 4 tastes, you can have a nice evening without breaking the bank.
Walk-ins are welcome or you can call ahead to reserve a table. Be sure to check their events calendar to see what is happening.
They also have a wine club and offer wine-making and private events.

Located in Canyon Lake, Pontita Vineyard and Winery specialize in riesling but they also serve red wine, sparkling wine as well as Zinfandel.
They offer wine tastings, wine by the glass, and charcuterie boards. Their vineyard is also able to host weddings, rehearsal dinners, and private parties.
