There’s something irresistibly luxurious about sipping on a glass of Bailey’s Irish Cream. The velvety smoothness, the perfect blend of whiskey and cream—it’s a true indulgence.

But what if you could recreate that magic at home? Well, you’re in luck! In this blog post, we’ll guide you through a delightful Bailey’s Irish Cream copycat recipe that will have you savoring every sip.

Bailey’s is my husband’s favorite drink! But it can get pricey pretty quickly. Now I can make it for him at home for a fraction of the cost. He can’t tell the difference and I know exactly what’s in it.

This post is all about the best Bailey’s Irish Cream Copycat Recipe.

Ingredients for the Best Bailey’s Irish Cream Copycat Recipe:

  • 1 cup of Irish whiskey – This is a starting point. Taste the finished product and adjust according to your taste. We typically add more. (I used Jamison Irish Whiskey)
  • 1 can (14 ounces) of sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups cream or half and half
  • 1 teaspoon of instant coffee granules
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract (optional)

Instructions for the Best Bailey’s Irish Cream Copycat Recipe:

  1. Gather your ingredients: Make sure you have everything on hand before you start. The key to a successful copycat recipe is using quality ingredients.
  2. Blend the base: In a blender, combine the Irish whiskey, sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, instant coffee granules, vanilla extract, and almond extract (if using). Blend until all the ingredients are well combined and the mixture is smooth. Be careful not to overblend or it will turn into butter.
  3. Taste and adjust: Give the mixture a taste and adjust the ingredients to your liking. If you prefer a stronger coffee flavor, add more coffee granules. Adjust the sweetness or the whiskey level according to your taste. This step is key to making the Irish Cream that you will love.
  4. Bottle it up: Once you’re satisfied with the flavor, carefully pour the mixture into a clean, airtight bottle or jar. This homemade Bailey’s Irish Cream can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. But at our house it never lasts that long.
  5. Chill and serve: Allow the homemade Bailey’s to chill in the refrigerator for at least a few hours (optimally 24 hours) before serving. Serve it over ice, in your coffee, or even get creative with cocktails.

Be sure to share the love with friends – give it as gifts, bring it to gatherings, or simply treat yourself and a friend to a nightcap after a long day.

There’s something incredibly satisfying about creating your own version of a beloved classic like Bailey’s Irish Cream. With this simple yet indulgent recipe, you can experience the richness and flavor of this iconic liqueur right in the comfort of your home. Cheers to the joy of homemade delights!
