Homemade limoncello is incredibly easy to make. The hardest part is the waiting. But trust me, it is totally worth the wait. This is truly the best limoncello recipe.
Limoncello only has a few ingredients; lemons, alcohol, and simple syrup. But, you are going to want to plan ahead for this recipe. As it takes about a month for it be ready.
Once you combine the lemons and alcohol all you have to do is shake the jar every couple of days and watch the transformation.
I’m making this as Christmas Gifts for my friends as well as for my Limoncello Spritzer.

You absolutely must use organic lemons. But, even still, you should use a fruit and vegetable wash to clean the lemons before you steep the peels. I use the one from Trader Joes. But Amazon also sells one with good reviews.
Use a vegetable peeler to peel the lemons. Be very careful to avoid as much of the bitter pith as possible.
Place the peels in large jars and cover with the Vodka.
