YouTube workouts for women over 40 are the perfect way to stay fit without the added stress on your joints.
Oftentimes, working out after age 40 looks a little different than it used to. Our bodies start having different needs and limitations.
I find that using a workout that is created specifically for someone over the age of 40 makes a huge difference in how I feel post-workout.
There are many YouTube workout videos out there. But finding the ones that are best for women over 40 makes a huge difference. I have personally done each of these workouts and share my honest opinion of them.
I included a variety of workouts ranging from full body to stretching, to arm-focused, to yoga. And each workout takes less than 30 minutes and some are only 10 minutes. So, you can find something that works with your schedule.

Low Impact Ladder HIIT Cardio Workout with No Jumping for Women Over 40

This a great cardio workout for women over 40. It is low impact, so that means it’s easy on the joints. Yet, it still gets your heart rate up and pumping.
It’s only 20 minutes so it doesn’t take a big chunk of time out of your day.
You start with 4 low-impact moves – easy on the joints but still pumps up your heart rate.
There’s no rest in-between moves, which really gets your heart rate up.
PJ is very high-energy and motivating.
Ab Workout for Women Over 40. Get a Toned Core NOW

Top exercises on how you can keep your core strong, defined and refined.
Exercises are done down on the floor on a mat as well as standing.
There are no ab crunches. Just her dancer moves for a strong core.
FULL BODY Dumbbell Workout for Women Over 40 (GREAT Results FAST)

She starts the video by showing you several different exercises – how to do them, and the correct form. She talks about how many reps and when to rest.
After she has gone thru a brief explanation of each of the exercises, she then goes thru the flow of the entire workout.
A great workout because you can determine the intensity based on the weight of the dumbbells you want to use.
I absolutely love this workout! The entire video is about 15 minutes.
Once you have seen the video and done the workout a few times, you really won’t need to watch the first half anymore.
Basically, you can get a great workout in under 10 minutes. Perfect for those days when you feel like you don’t have time for a workout but know you really need to get it in.
Trust me, you will still feel the burn even though it is a short workout.
At-home strength training workout suitable for beginners over 40

Her entire youtube channel is focused on workouts, diet, and lifestyle for women over 40. I encourage you to check out all of her videos.
This is a 30-minute full-body strength training only using dumbbells. Suitable for beginners and intermediate levels. These are mostly hybrid exercises using the lower and upper body together.
Three sets of 10 of each exercise.
This video starts with a warmup and ends with stretching. It is also heavily focused on squats and lunges, so you may not want to use any weights at all if you have trouble with your knees. It’s much better to focus on getting your form correct before you add weight.
30-Minute Total Body, No Repeats, Compound Workout | Women Over 40 Workouts

Level: intermediate
This video is probably not the best for beginners.
Fast-paced exercises that are milti-muscles, often working the upper and lower body simultaneously.
You will need a variety of dumbbells, a box, or a bench to step up on – she offers modifications if you need them.
Workout starts with a 4-minute warmup then moves to one minute of exercise with 15 seconds in between.
It’s fast-paced and holds your attention. The exercises are simple and effective.
The coordinating footwork is easy to follow and adds a nice element to the workout.
Best Beginner Bodyweight Workout For Women Over 40 (FOLLOW ALONG)

This workout is great for beginners. It’s a super quick workout that gets the job done.
Perfect for those days you don’t have a lot of time to workout. Now you can still get your workout in without making a huge dent in your schedule.
This is also a great workout as a warmup if you are looking for a more intense workout.
Exercises are easy on the joints and great to get the blood flowing – a great way to start the day.
If you have areas of concern such as knees or hips, this is the perfect workout for you.
The flow is 8 different exercises – 30 seconds of workout followed by 30 seconds of rest.
They also give great options for modifying each exercise to meet your needs.
Toned Arms Workout for Women Over 40 – Start Losing Those Flabby Bat Wing Arms Today!
This is another workout that works on just your arms. pretty fast-paced and focused.

Level: Beginner
This isn’t really a workout per se. She gives you several exercises for you to do at least 3 times a week to focus on your upper arms
There are 5 total exercises. Once you have seen the video a few times, you will be able to do the exercises without it. Making it the perfect addition to one of the other workouts.
It’s also kind of nice to be able to get a quick workout in without having to get your laptop or iPad out.
I would definitely recommend this video. I mean, who doesn’t want tighter arms?
Say Goodbye to Flabby Arms – 10-Minute Arm Workout over 40

Do not be fooled by the short length of this video. It will really get your arms burning.
I would suggest using lighter weights than what you are used to using because the burn is real with this workout.
Your arms will be tight and tone in no time if you add this video to your workout routine.
The video is totally focused on toning your arms and It’s pretty fast-paced and focused.
There’s not a long intro which I really appreciate in a workout video.
She uses light weights but you can use the weight of your choice and customize the workout to your needs.
10-Minute Daily Stretching Routine For Women Over 40

This is an incredible stretching workout that is both calming and relaxing and gentle on your body.
It’s the perfect stretch to do if you are feeling a little tight in your joints. It’s a great feel-good stretch that will get your day started on the right foot

After the age of 40, yoga is something you really need to add to your workout regimen. It’s great for balance and flexibility. Both of these are something that women over 40 will benefit from.
Adriene’s Yoga Videos are some of my favorite YouTube workouts. She has an entire yoga channel with workouts for beginners and advanced yogis.
She does a great job of explaining each of the poses and makes them very easy for the novice yogi to grasp and achieve.
All of the above videos are great workouts for women over 40. Pick and choose your videos based on the area you want to focus on and the time you have to spend working out.
